Austin Griffith - General Solidity and Ethereum training available!

Hello Austin,

Thanks for providing this opportunity, I really appreciate it.

I started studying web development about 2 years ago when I found out it could help me unleash my creativity using code. I’m comfortable with JavaScript, Node JS, React.

I learnt about blockchain technology a few months ago and dived right into it as I am positive about it’s potential and have been studying aggressively to know more about it. I have a few solidity projects I built following tutorials and a simple dex I built entirely on my own to check how much I have learnt (www.github.com/icepaigez)

I am hoping to learn enough to build mission critical apps as part of a team, as well as launch a start-up in the near future and was excited when I saw your call for mentoring: I am aggressive about learning (I spend about 10 hours daily after my day job studying to get better at my craft) and building stuff(currently working through a hackathon) and would consider it a privilege to learn from you.

Thank you for taking the time to consider me.

Hi Austin,

Got to this forum while looking for Ethereum mentors. I’m excited to see that you’re buidl-ing a community where blockchain-passionated devs gather around. I feel very lucky that I got here.

Let me introduce myself. I’m a Software Engineer working in the field of AI/Computer Vision. I’ll be in this field for 5 years since my Master’s graduation. I’m very passionate about new technology so that I can spend most of my spare time researching and get my hand dirty. Blockchain is no exception for me, I already took an Ethereum course by Stephen on Udemy but learning never stops so I gotta take this chance. My interest in blockchain are DeFi, GamingFi, and more new ideas.
Looking forward to seeing your message in my Inbox.
Thank you!!

Hi Austin,

My name is Chad and I’d love the opportunity to be mentored by you! My goal is to find a job as a developer in the ETH ecosystem within the next 6 months.

I have a bit of an unconventional background for an aspiring developer. For the past decade I’ve been writing music and touring with my band which I still do. When not on tour I work for a company building guitar amplifiers.

I’ve been interested in crypto for the past 6 years or so and I’m enamored with the Ethereum community and want to get involved in a larger way.

I have experience with HTML, CSS, JS and Python. I’m currently taking a Solidity course on Udemy. I’m a motivated self-learner but having a mentor would be so helpful!

I appreciate you taking the time to help so many people.

Thanks,

Chad

Hey Austin,
super cool that you’ve made this offer as I know your time is valuable and you already have many people reaching out to you. As such, I have no huge expectation of you having time to help me out but never the less it would be cool!

I’ve been getting into your scaffold-eth project starter and your youtube a lot recently and it seems like a great way to start building a DApp with the goal of learning more solidity.

I am a FE developer working for another L1 blockchain company currently but am very excited by the possibilities and dev ecosystem/tooling of ETH/solidity so I want to learn here as well. My ultimate goal for my career is to work more as a fullstack with smart contracts and as such I am trying to keep learning solidity.

I have an idea for a project I am hoping to build for the next eth global hackathon and it would be cool to chat with you to brainstorm a bit and get a sense of the roadmap I would need to implement my vision. Or maybe just clarify some things I still need to learn about solidity.

Feel free to reach out if you have some time! Thanks again.

Hi Austin
I am a software dev with approximately 4 years of experience. I work with Javascript (React.Js and Node.Js) and Java. I have dipped my toe in the blockchain world and learnt Solidity and deployed a few smart contracts on the Ropsten testnet . I am mostly a self learner, but right now I strongly feel the need for some direction, that’s why I would love some guidance from you.

Hey Austin,

My name is Mark and I’m a software engineer with about 9 years of experience. The majority of that time has been full stack development, but most recently I joined a small team to be the lead front end developer on an early stage product. I’ve been doing a lot of research/reading lately on web3, and I’m ready to start diving in and doing some development. I’d love the opportunity to learn from you, if you’re still accepting people!

Thanks,

Hi Austin,

Early in the pandemic, I left a career as a physics teacher to pursue one in data engineering. During the subsequent crypto bull run, I decided that I must contribute to the most important technological and financial revolution of my lifetime. I’m fully on the bandwagon now, but I had been lurking here quietly for awhile.

I’ve been catching up with the technical depth of the space for months now, but I have lacked mentorship to help me buidl meaningful projects and fully transition to the space professionally.

Here are some of the resources that I’ve worked through:

Ethereum 2.0 studymaster 10 week program
Udemy Ethereum and Solidity: The complete developer’s guide
OpenZepplin “Ethernaut” Solidity contract security game, 4/23 complete
Terra Academy: Rust and CosmWasm contracts
MIT opencourseware:
|–Blockchain and Money
|–Cryptocurrency Engineering and Design

Andreas Antonopolos: Mastering Bitcoin and Mastering Ethereum
Countless other blogs, forums, talks, and podcasts

It sounds like I would be a good match for your mentorship program. I already have much of the software and blockchain fundamentals down, and would benefit from guidance to create a polished portfolio and establish a career in smart contract development.

Hi Austin!

This is an amazing opportunity and I would love to take advantage of it. I am a software engineer with 6 years experience, currently working at a traditional finance company. My primary experience is with Java/Typescript (working in a Spring/Angular stack). Also, have significant devops/cloud experience building deployment pipelines. https://www.linkedin.com/in/brendanboyle87. I currently work on optimization problems for traders. Coding is a second career for me, I was an attorney before I joined Launch Academy, a software development bootcamp.

I’ve been following crypto since around 2016. I was immediately drawn to Ethereum when it came out primarily because of the smart contract aspect (I was a lawyer at the time). Following the ICO boom/bust, I’ll admit my interest had waned but I still followed a lot of people in the crypto industry. Earlier this year I started to see a ton of activity around Defi and NFTs. When I dug into it I was amazed at the amount of creativity/real use cases being built on top of Ethereum. I have been doing a deep dive ever since and am ready to move my software career into the crypto space.

Hello from the Philippines Austin!

I saw your scaffold-eth video in the ethglobal youtube today. I did some googling and ended up here!

I’m actually a corporate / project finance guy looking to make the switch to developing and learning about the whole eth ecosystem especially the DAO side of things. I’m currently enrolled in the consensys bootcamp but would love to supplement that with some more training.

I hope I could learn / apprentice under you.

Thank you!

Hello Austin,

My name is Dimitar and I am an intermediate web developer who is slowly diving into web3 development.

I am currently attending the blockchain development bootcamp from ConsenSys, and I am finishing my final project assignment. Last week I was watching your presentation on scaffold-eth, and I am fascinated on how easy it is to get up and going with this dev stack. The last week I’ve been playing around with scaffold-eth and I think I can manage to cope with it, although I won’t be using it for my final assignment because I want to do the things manually at first and also the whole bootcamp is leaned more towards truffle and not hardhat.

With that said, I will be honored if I have the privilege to have you as my mentor.

Best Regards,
Dime

Hi Austin,

Thank you very much for doing this, this is great.

My name is Armin, I work in a data analytics/data science kind of role in the financial services industry and am thus most experienced with Python and R. I am deep into crypto, especially everything related to DeFi, and recently started working on levelling up my Solidity dev skills to contribute to the ecosystem as a builder as well.

I completed a Chainlink blockchain development bootcamp, am currently participating in their fall hackathon and am also in the process of going through Ethernaut/CryptoZombies. By now, I feel I have some basic Solidity proficiency and I think mentoring could really help me make great strides forward from here.

It would be an honour to be mentored by you and I hope to hear from you.

Best,
Armin
